New Delhi: The much-awaited trailer of The Accidental Prime Minister, starring Anupam Kher as former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, is finally here. Manmohan served the position from 2004-2014.
German actor Suzanne Bernert plays then-Congress president Sonia Gandhi while Arjun Mathur and Aahana Kumra portray Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi respectively. Actor Akshaye Khanna plays political analyst Sanjaya Baru, who was also the former PM’s media adviser, to a tee. The film is based on Baru’s memoir that was released in 2014 and had said that the book humanised Sing. "It brings him out as a human being. The younger generation today thinks of him as some kind of robot, a statue," he had told Indian Express.

Baru: "100 crore ke abaadi wale iss desh ko ye ginne chunne log chalate hain" (A handful of people run this country with a population of millions)
Baru: "PM ke liye kaam karta hoo, party ke liye nahin." (I work for the prime minister, not for the political party.)
Random party worker: "Par PM toh party ke liye kaam karte hai, Baru." (But the prime minister works for the party, Baru)

Sonia Gandhi: "Agar aap Pakistan ke saath shaanti ka samjhauta karenge toh naye prime ministe kya karenge?" (If you enter peaceful talks with Pakistan then what will the new prime minister do?)
