Sophie Turner who recently surprised her fans after secretly marrying Joe Jonas in Las Vegas spoke about her experience in Game of Thrones. The actress who plays Sansa Stark in the show opened up about her struggle during shooting.
Media reports cited Sophie Turner who said that she was pressured by several people to lose weight while shooting for the series.
Sophie Turner told media “I have experienced mental illness first-hand and I have seen what it can do to the people around as well.”
Turner said that while she was pressured by people on set because she had started to gain weight while shooting the show, and had sought therapy to help her cope, it was Joe Jonas who stuck by her side, and supported her mentally.
Sophie Turner said that it is very important to have someone whom you can talk to and share your feelings with. “Everyone needs a therapist, especially when people are constantly telling you that you’re not good enough, you don’t look good enough”, the actress stated.
Newlyweds Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas married just hours after he performed with his brothers at the Billboard Music Awards. Jonas brothers Nick and Kevin served as groomsmen. Their wives Priyanka and Danielle Jonas also attended the wedding. Surprisingly, Sophie’s best friend/co-star from the Games of Thrones Maisie Williams was absent. Turner had said in an interview that Williams would be the maid of honour at her wedding.
