Synopsis

Shweta Basu Prasad married filmmaker Rohit Mittal in a traditional ceremony donning a Sabyasachi sari that she draped in the Bengali Atpoure style.

Bollywood actor Shweta Basu Prasad married her long-time beau Rohit Mittal in Pune on December 13, Thursday. The wedding took place in accordance with Bengali traditions. She donned a beautiful Sabyasachi sari for her special day. The orange and red hue sari draped in the Bengali Atpoure style was teamed with an embroidered blouse.

She matched her attire with a statement choker necklace, a nath and a borla-mathapatti. The groom too looked dapper in a black achkan-churidaar along with a beige turban.

According to reports, Shweta was styled by her mother, Sharmistha Bose, her outfit was accessorised with gold jewellery from Amrapali jewels. Because the wedding was a fusion between Bengali and Marwari traditions, some of her jewellery had a Rajasthani design.

The actor had earlier flown to Bali with her girl gang for her bachelorette bash.

The pre-wedding celebrations kickstarted with a mehndi ceremony a few days ago. Where she flaunted a hot pink lehenga featuring heavy mirror and gota patti work. The outfit was accessorised with heavy gold jhumkas and a maang tikka.

Rohit and Shweta had been dating for six years and had moved in with each other two years ago. Interestingly, if rumours are to be believed it was director Anurag Kashyap who played cupid in their love story.

MyNation wishes them a happy married life to both Rohit and Shweta.
