Actors Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar have shocked Internet with their role of Chandro and Prakashi Tomar, real-life sharpshooters from Uttar Pradesh.

New Delhi: Acclaimed Bollywood actors Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar are well-known for doing justice to the most difficult roles in their movies. However, their latest outing with Saand Ki Aankh may just be their most admirable one. The two will be telling the story of Chandro and Prakashi Tomar from Uttar Pradesh aka the 'Shooter Dadis'.

The first look of the movie dropped today and the Internet is left shocked. The 31-year-old Pannu and 29-year-old Pednekar flaunt wrinkled skin and grey hair to fit into the role of the 60-year-old sharpshooters. Bhumi will play Chandro Tomar while Taapsee will essay the role of her sister-in-law, Prakashi Tomar.

In a video shared by Pednekar on her social media handles, the real-life Chandro, now 86, reveals details about their shooting evolution. It all began when she accompanied her granddaughter to the shooting range and helped her out with loading the gun. She was soon joined by her sister-in-law, Prakashi, 82, and the two have never looked back.

The movie also features director Prakash Jha and Mukkabaaz star Vineet Singh. Originally titled Womaniya, the film was renamed Saand Ki Aankh after a title rights dispute. The movie is being jointly produced by Anurag Kashyap and Nidhi Parmar and will be directed by Tushar Hiranandani.

Why can't Bollywood hire older women for a film like saand ki aankh? Why are 20-somethings playing the role of 60 year olds?
