Marana Mass is the first song released from Rajinikanth's Petta and has already received an overwhelming response from Thalaivar fans.

Chennai: Marana Mass, the first single from Rajinikanth's upcoming film Petta, has been unveiled. The song, within a few minutes of its release, has received thousands of views and likes from the fans of Superstar Rajinikanth.

The song is a perfect blend of Anirudh Ravinchander's energetic music and Rajinikanth's style which will definitely make it the track of the year.

The music is composed by Anirudh Ravinchander and Vivek has penned the track. SP Balasubramaniam croons the song. The music has folksy flavour, colloquially called Kuththu paattu, for the Rajinikanth film.

The song starts with a dialogue from Rajinikanth: "Paakathanae pora intha Kaali yoda aatatha" (You are going to witness the dance -- read: atrocity -- of this Kaali).

Directed by Karthik Subbaraj, Petta also has stars like Vijay Sethupathi, Trisha, Simran Bagga, Bobby Simha, Megha Akash, Sanath Reddy and Nawazuddin Siddiqi.

As per a leading South Indian portal, Rajini's role will be the proper mix of a classy and massy hero. This will be Rajini's third character as a don after Kabali and Kaala. The film was shot in Dehradun, Chennai and Lucknow.
