It is the story of a 17-year-old village girl Sonia, who enters the world of prostitution to rescue her sister Preeti, who was sold off to a pimp. The beautiful Mrunal Thakur plays the titular role of Sonia. Instead of most actresses taking the conventional way of debuting in a glamorous role, Mrunal decided to take the off-beat path and debut with a hard-hitting film instead. The film stars Manoj Bajpayee, Richa Chadha, Rajkummar Rao, Anupam Kher, Sai Tamhankar, Adil Hussain, Demi Moore and Freida Pinto.
