#MeToo crackdown: Yash Raj Films fire Ashish Patil after verifying the sexual harassment allegations against him

Patil has been accused of sexual harassment and exploitation by an anonymous woman whose account was shared by activist Japleen Pasricha 
 

Mumbai: Posting a curt statement on their Twitter handle, Yash Raj Films (YRF) announced the termination of services of their creative and business head, Ashish Patil. 

Patil had casting couch allegations levelled against him by an anonymous woman. YRF had asked the survivor to share her story with the presiding officer of their Internal Complaints Committee. Patil was sent on an administrative leave soon after.

The production house had said in a statement, that they have a zero tolerance towards any form of sexual exploitation or harassment of women. An aspiring actor had accused Patil of sexual misconduct in a series of screenshots shared by activist Japleen Pasricha. She wrote, “He’d visit my place and yes every time tried his moves until he got his way.”

According to the anonymous woman, when she informed about the incident to someone working closely with Aditya Chopra, she was asked for proof and told that Chopra is fond of Patil and will not take any action.
