Kannadigas tweet to #StopTeluguImposition after release of Dear Comrade; KGF 2 unveils new character

Synopsis

While Vijay Devarakonda’s Telugu film Dear Comrade has been criticised for the unfair release in Karnataka, Yash’s KGF is being put on a pedestal for being fair to Telugu audiences in Andhra Pradesh

Vijay Devarakonda’s Telugu film Dear Comrade hit theatres today. The movie has been shot in four languages simultaneously. Excited, the actor took to Twitter this morning to inform his followers regarding the release.

But all is not well with the movie as people from different parts of Karnataka have taken to social media platforms to raise complaints regarding the fact that the number of Telugu shows is incomparable to the number of Kannada shows in the state.

Speaking about Telugu imposition, Abhi Nandan, a person in Karnataka tweeted, “Davanagere has 3 shows Telugu and 1 Kannada! What pathetic business stratdgy is this? Distributors aren't bothered about more profits? Why haven't they thought abt providing content in Kannada in a city like Davanagere?Or is it by plan? #BoycottDearComrade #StopTeluguImposition (sic).”

#StopTeluguImposition began trending on Twitter since then and people have been retweeting it and giving their views on the same as well.

A Twitterati, Kiran, had tweeted yesterday stating that the movie is to be released on July 26 but that the number of Telugu shows is 350, whereas there will be just over 20 Kannada shows in the state.

He also mentioned in another tweet that Yash’s Kannada film KGF was released in Andhra Pradesh with a really high number of Telugu shows when compared to Kannada shows. He tweeted, “This is how KGF was released in Andhra unlike 8 for Kannada versus 290 in Telugu for #DearComrade in Karnataka tomorrow. #StopTeluguImposition.”

Speaking of KGF, the movie’s second chapter is scheduled to release on December 21. The team revealed a second character from the movie in a poster release that took place today. And now fans cannot wait to know who plays the character ‘Adheera’.

While they suspect that Sanjay Dutt is Adheera, the team will reveal the face of the character on July 29.
