Live entertainment in India is expanding beyond traditional formats, with audiences increasingly seeking experiences that combine entertainment with emotion and connection. Laksh Maheshwari’s Khushiyan – A Journey to Find Joy is emerging as a strong example of this shift.
Designed as a storytelling-led live experience, Khushiyan brings together humour, personal stories, lived experiences and moments of reflection. The show centres around one universal question — what truly makes us happy? — and uses storytelling to explore the many different answers that audiences may find within their own lives.
The response has translated into significant numbers, with 25,000+ tickets sold across India. The tour has travelled through Delhi, Bengaluru, Patna, Bhopal, Indore, Varanasi, Hyderabad and Mumbai, and is now set to reach Ludhiana, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad and Kolkata.
The Delhi show marked a major milestone, with 2,000+ people attending the performance at Talkatora Stadium. The gathering became the biggest storytelling show in India, demonstrating the scale that a storytelling-led live format can achieve.
The success of Khushiyan also highlights the growing potential for original intellectual properties in the Indian live entertainment space. Rather than relying on a conventional concert or comedy format, the show has built its identity around a distinct concept and an emotional proposition that can travel across markets.
Amol Gupta, Co-founder of DIY Solutions, has played a key role in developing the touring strategy behind Khushiyan. The DIY Solutions team has worked across partnerships, production, marketing, logistics and execution to build a scalable touring experience across multiple cities.
With more shows lined up, Khushiyan is continuing to establish storytelling as a powerful live format while building a nationwide community around a universal idea — the search for happiness.
