A tribute to Stan Lee, vibrant cosplay and a celebration of your favourite comic stars marks the pop fest's South leg

Bengaluru: The wait of all superhero and comic fans in the Silicon Valley of India is over with the most prominent youth festival, Comic-Con kicking off on November 17 and 18 at the KTPO Trade and Convention Centre, Whitefield. The main highlight this year is a special tribute to Marvel Comics founder Stan Lee, who left life recently.

The most popular feature of the event is the cosplay - a fancy dress show where people dress up as their favourite comic characters and indulge in improvised acts.

All over the hall, one could see many cosplayers in their superhero costumes. From kids to young adults, all were aiming for the Rs 50,000 prize amount for the best dressed. From Black Widow, Iron Man to Wonder Woman or Venom, all superheroes competed not to save the world but build on their savings.

While it was a dream come true for many Marvel fans, some among the audience did complain of the lack of ventilation at the venue.

Sahil Shah, a renowned Indian comedian, captivated the audiences with his hilarious stand-up set. In addition, the many stalls of merchandise, toys, games, films, animation etc vowed young revellers. The Bengaluru Comic-Con wrapped up with an epic turnout; fans were seen indulging in games, contests and workshops.

Following Bengaluru, Delhi and Mumbai Comic-Cons will take place on December 7-9 and December 22-23 respectively.
