Comedy में tragedy? AIB loses out Hotstar show amidst allegations against Tanmay Bhat, Khamba

Synopsis

The comedy group announced on Monday that two of its founding members Tanmay Bhat and Gursimran Khamba were stepping away from the organisation

Mumbai: The recent Me Too movement in India has outed the supposed 'woke feminists' Tanmay Bhat and Gursimran Khamba of comedy group All India Bakchod.

While Bhat has come under attack for his inaction in the complaints against writer-comedian Utsav Chakraborty, who was recently accused of sending explicit photographs to minor women,  Khamba has been directly accused of forcing himself sexually on an acquaintance.

Khamba also took to social media to explain his side of the story, calling the tryst a 'toxic relationship' and that the hook-up was 'consensual'.

The Human Resources department at AIB issued a statement saying Gursimran Khamba would go on a “temporary leave of absence” until there is more clarity on the matter. The statement also said that Tanmay Bhat, co-founder and CEO of the group “would step away from his association” with the group until further notice.

The online streaming app, Hotstar, has cancelled AIB's season 3 of the 'On Air with AIB'.
