On April 29, celebs like Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Salman Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Priyanka Chopra cast their votes. Among them was Twinkle Khanna. However, Akshay Kumar was conspicuous by his absence.
Mumbai: Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, who was in the news for his ‘non-political' conversation with PM Narendra Modi is now getting trolled for not casting his vote on April 29.
Celebs came out in large numbers to cast their vote in phase 4 of ongoing Lok Sabha elections. From Ajay Devgn, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Vidya Balan, Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Kajol, Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Anushka Sharma, Dharmendra to Ranbir Kapoor, almost everyone from the Hindi film industry was seen exercising their right to vote. One among them was Akshay Kumar's wife Twinkle Khanna too.

As soon as the pictures of Twinkle coming out of polling booth made their way to the social media, many trolls had one common question - where is Akshay Kumar? "What about @akshaykumar? Wont he cast vote?" Another one asked, "No funny take on ur husband absence from voting today :)".

Not long ago, PM Modi had tagged Akshay Kumar in a tweet, asking him to encourage voting. PM Modi also said, "The power of a vote is immense and we all need to improve awareness on its importance. Thoda Dum Lagaiye aur Voting ko Ek Superhit Katha banaiye."
To which, Khiladi Kumar had replied saying the "true hallmark of a democracy lies in people’s participation in the electoral process. Voting has to be a superhit prem katha between our nation and its voters."
