Hindu Mahasabha president Swamy Chakrapani tweeted that Hindu actresses need to follow in the footsteps of Zaira Wasim after the latter announced her disassociation from the film industry

Mumbai: Dangal actress Zaira Wasim on Sunday announced her "disassociation" from the field of acting, saying she was not happy with the line of work as it interfered with her faith and religion.

In a detailed post on her Facebook page, which she later shared across all social media platforms, the Kashmiri-born Dangal fame star said, "Though I may fit here perfectly, I do not belong here."

Post that many celebs and politicians supported her decision. Now Hindu Mahasabha president Swamy Chakrapani has asked Hindu actresses to follow in the footsteps of Wasim, who decided to exit the glam world as it was damaging her relationship with ‘Allah’.

(SIC) (Actress Zaira Wasim, moving away from films for religious faith, is commendable. Hindu actresses should also draw inspiration from Zaira.)

While some supported her, a few also trolled her, calling it “regressive” and in “bad taste”. One said, Wasim's announcement of bidding goodbye to Bollywood is a cheap publicity stunt keeping in mind her upcoming movie Sky is Pink, which is set to release on October 11. Her fans said that her account has been hacked, just like that of Amitabh Bachchan and Adnan Sami's last month.

A few tweets are here:

KRK @kamaalrkhan: I will say to all the people, that pls don't trust #ZairaWasim! She is doing all this for the publicity only. She is the biggest drama girl. She is in the Bollywood and she will never leave it. Don't worry, Aamir khan will produce more films for her.(SIC)

DskTalks‏ @Dsk_Talks: #ZairaWasim is a solid psycho who does everything for publicity. Didnt she accuse someone of sexual molestation in a flight sometime ago.? Irony is she was happily shooting herself being sexually harrased by a sleeping man on her mobile camera instead of calling for help (SIC)

Gitanjali D.S‏ @Gitanjali_DS: #ZairaWasim is simply doing all this to gain some publicity for her upcoming movie! Nothing serious. Media unnecessarily giving her importance...

Untamed Lion‏ @patrawalakunal: Zaira Wasim is just making a publicity stunt nothing else. If someone wants to quit something they don't go ahead and keep using social media to declare it as a event in history #ZairaWasim

★Sumit Saurav★‏ @SumitGomzi: I have seen #RakhiSawant speaking senselessly. I have seen #SwaraBhasker tweeting senselessly. But both can't beat #ZairaWasim forced publicity and senseless acts.

However, her manager Tuhin Mishra clarified to ANI saying, "We have never said that her account was hacked. We just said that we would definitely like to know what has happened. And the post was put out by her," Tuhin Mishra told ANI.

Zaira too has tweeted, "This to clarify that none of my social media accounts were or are hacked and are being handled by me personally. Kindly refrain from believing or sharing claims that state otherwise! Thanks."

Wasim will next be seen in the film The Sky is Pink, which also stars Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Farhan Akhtar. The film completed its shooting in March.
