With elections fast approaching, there seems to be no end to the jibes one politician makes against another. Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandrababu Naidu called YSRCP’s YSR Jaganmohan Reddy a “ganja plant in a garden of tulsis”.
Kadapa: As the war of words intensifies with each passing day as we near the Lok Sabha election, Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu called YSRCP chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy a “ganja plant”.
Naidu was at a rally in Kadapa, which is Jaganmohan Reddy’s home district, when he made the comment. Naidu said that the Kadapa district was a Tulsi garden that birthed several great personalities like Annamayya, Veera Brahmendra Swamy and Yogi Vemana.
“In this Tulsi garden, a ganja plant (cannabis) has also grown. He is Jaganmohan Reddy," said Naidu, while addressing the rally.
Chandrababu Naidu, had earlier described Jagan, as the leader who is popularly known as the "brand ambassador of crimes".
Naidu alleged that the YSRCP President was the only leader in the country who had 31 criminal cases against him.
Terming Jagan as the only problem of the state, the TDP chief urged people to ensure that YSRCP was wiped out in the polls.
"People should be alert because those who killed their own uncle can do anything," said the TDP leader, referring to the recent murder of Jagan's uncle YS Vivekananda Reddy.
The chief minister further went on to say that the murder case had more twists than a detective novel and alleged that Jagan was trying to use Vivekananda Reddy's murder for political mileage.
Campaigning in Badvel and Rayachoti, Naidu alleged that the YSRC was planning to perpetrate violence in the region, but he “would not spare anybody and would cut their tails”.
Naidu alleged that Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had “stolen” the Telugu Desam’s Sevamitra data and given it to Jaganmohan Reddy.
Elections to the 175-member Andhra Assembly and all 25 Lok Sabha constituencies are scheduled on April 11.
