Manchester: Afghanistan captain Gulbadin Naib threatened to walk out of a press conference at the ICC World Cup 2019 on Tuesday (June 18) after the team’s 150-run loss to hosts England.
Naib was upset with journalists asking him about his teammates involved in an alleged altercation at a restaurant on Monday night. According to BBC, Afghan players took objection to filming of them by a member of the public. Later police was called.

“Greater Manchester Police said officers attended Akbar's restaurant shortly after 23:15 BST. No arrests were made and investigations are ongoing,” BBC reported.
After the match, Naib faced the media in the post-match press conference at Old Trafford, Manchester.

“No, no, no. No, I haven't, so you can ask with my security officer. So I didn't know anything about him — about them,” Naib explained.
After further questioned, he added, “No, no, I didn't know anything about them. So it's not a big issue for the team for me. So even I didn't know anything about them, so we have like manager and also we have a security officer. So you can ask — you can ask with them. So we didn't know about anything.
“If anyone asks this kind of questions, then I will go. I will go, yeah.”

In the match, Eoin Morgan blasted a world record 17 sixes en route to 71-ball 148. Afghan’s star leg-spinner Rashid Khan was taken to the cleaners, with worst bowling figures in World Cup history, 0/110 in nine overs.
Naib defended Rashid and said, “Not that much (disappointed) because Rashid is one of the best spinners now. He's a star player. So yeah, it happens, for any player, so not only Rashid. So yeah, everyone knows how good Rashid is. I think today was not his day, but it's cricket, so sometimes you do well, sometimes like this kind of stuff. So I'm happy with him. No, it's not a big deal.”
