The Kerala PSC 2021 exam includes two exams – preliminary and main exam. The preliminary exam has two papers, while the main exam has three papers. Apart from clearing these exams, candidates have to clear the personality test/interview

The preliminary exam has two papers- general studies and language proficiency. Both papers will have MCQs. Students can choose to answer in English or Malayalam language.

For General Studies Paper-I

Ancient India (dynasties, movements, art, and architecture, etc.), modern era (situation of India before and after independence, reforms, etc.), Kerala's history (movements, establishment of state of Kerala, politics, etc.), world history ( industrial revolution, world wars, globalization, movements, etc.), political structure and IR ( constitution of India, laws, and authorities, etc.), geography ( solar system, atmosphere, climate, earth's resources, etc.) and Mental Ability & Simple Arithmetic ( coding, analytical ability, calendar-based problems, etc.).

For General Studies Paper-II

● For Part-I: Indian economy, infrastructure, agriculture of India, irrigation, water supply, industrialization, tax system, budgets, population growth, unemployment, etc.

● For Part-II & III: synonyms & antonyms, tenses, active and passive voice, adverbs, adjectives, punctuation, correct the error, etc

Main Exam Syllabus

Kerala PSC's main exam is explanatory and descriptive. Students can choose to answer in English or Malayalam language. The majority of portions in the main and prelim exams are similar, but some new topics are added to the main exam's curriculum.

For General Studies Paper-I

Ancient India ( art and architecture, culture, activities, movements, etc.), modern era ( history of modern India, India before and after independence, religious and social reforms, the establishment of Kerala state, government, movements, etc.), history of the world (industrial revolution, world wars, globalization, movements, etc.), and cultural heritage of Kerala ( art, literature, culture, history of Malayalam language, etc.).

For General Studies Paper-II

Public administration, the constitution of India, political structure, and international relations ( constitutional authorities, judiciary, law, etc.), science and technology ( energy, technology, environmental sciences, etc.), and current issues ( includes current affairs of all sections in this paper).

For General Studies Paper-III

Geography (earth's motion, solar system, atmosphere, climate, earth's resources, etc.), economy ( Indian economy, reforms, etc.), agriculture (Pricing of agriculture inputs and outputs, Green revolution, food security, etc.), infrastructure ( meaning and importance of infrastructure, water supply, infrastructure in India's economy, etc.), industry ( industrial policy, growth trends of industrialization, e-commerce, etc.), finance ( tax system, GST, Indian public finance, etc.), Indian foreign trade (Composition, Trend, direction, and Organization), population ( trends in growth, trends in unemployment, their effects, etc.), the economy of Kerala ( population, agriculture, infrastructure, etc.), developmental model of Kerala ( powers, planning, tourism, managing disasters, etc.), and current issues ( current issues of all sections).

After clearing the two exams, the next round is an interview. It is the final stage of the series, and it holds 50 marks.
