Chintamadaka: Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday (July 22) announced that each family of his native village Chintamadaka will receive Rs 10 lakh worth benefits for “income-generating activities”.

There is no government order or scheme document regarding his announcement yet, however the CM said that there will be no “eligibility criterion” for availing this benefit.

All the 2000-odd households in Chintamadaka and neighbouring Machapur and Seetarampalli, irrespective of caste or religion are allowed to avail this benefit.

The CM visited his village on Monday and said that Rs 200 crore would be spent on this scheme.

“I am granting it right away, and the GO will be issued tomorrow. This10 lakh would be given to all, irrespective of caste and religion. I know that everyone here is in debt, there is no upper caste who is well-off here,” said KCR to an elated crowd.

“This is a sign of my love to every individual in this village, which has made me who I am,” he said.

“The villagers can set up a poultry farm, the same person can set up a dairy farm. They could buy a tractor, paddy harvesting machines, set up small industries or buy auto rickshaws – there won’t be any objection. There is no rule that the money should be spent only for one specific purpose,” he clarified.

KCR added that every family must spend the entire Rs 10 lakh on some income-generating source. For example, if a family has spent Rs 9 lakh on a poultry farm, and Rs 1 lakh is remaining, they should be allowed to buy cattle.
