Amaravati: A US-based young physician Nukavarapu Manisha who hailed from Andhra Pradesh's Guntur district was one among the 157 killed in the Ethiopian Airlines plane crash. The crash claimed the lives of four Indians

Manisha was on her way to Nairobi to meet her sister who had delivered triplets a few days ago. She was also looking forward to meeting her parents Venkateshwar Rao and Bharathi, who stayed with their elder daughter.

According to reports, Manisha's relative put out a tweet to foreign minister Sushma Swaraj stating that her parents were waiting to receive the corpse in Nairobi. The minister replied stating that she had asked Rahul Chhabra, the Indian high commissioner in Nairobi, to provide all assistance to the deceased victim's family.

After pursuing her medicine from Guntur Medical College, Manisha went to the US for higher studies and settled in Tennessee.

She is listed as one of the resident physicians of the Department of Internal Medicine, Quillen College of Medicine, East Tennessee State University.
