Bengaluru: A day before the much-awaited biopic about Prime Minister Narendra Modi was slated to hit the screens on April 11, the Election Commission has stopped the movie's release. 

Yes, EC used its extraordinary powers under Article 324 of Constitution to stop the release of the biopic. Just before that, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) had issued a 'Universal' certificate to the film ahead of its release.

However, some of the movie loves and PM Modi's fans have had already bought tickets to watch the film and the tickets are still being sold on BookMyShow.

The online ticket booking website BookMyShow reveals that tickets are available for the film across the country. According to reports, the website executive said that they had not received any update regarding the ban on the film's release till Wednesday, April 10 afternoon. If the customers asked to cancel the tickets even at the last minute, customers would certainly get a full refund.
