Gardening has been around for a long time as a therapeutic hobby, so while humans were initially more interested in growing greens directly in the soil or in terracotta pots, new methods of propagation emerged as our ingenuity and intellect in dealing with things evolved.

Hanging potted plants are an example of flora that floats above the surface. They are cultivated in hanging planters with associated rope systems that allow the containers to be hung in the air.

Here is a list of the top eight hanging plants:

1. Moss Rose: This drought-tolerant, sun-loving plant can withstand high temperatures due to its succulent leaves. It also goes by the names moss rose purslane, Mexican rose, sun rose, and rock rose. It looks great in outdoor hanging baskets and thrives in well-drained soil. Its blossoms are available in white and a variety of brilliant, warm hues to complement your garden's color scheme.

2. Petunia: Many current petunia hybrids, which were once classified as sensitive perennials, are now grown as annuals in all USDA Plant Hardiness Zones. Petunias' profuse blossoms make them perfect for outdoor hanging baskets, but certain kinds require trimming and deadheading. 'Supertunia Vsta' is a low-maintenance, heat-tolerant variety that requires no deadheading.

3. Golden Pothos: The money plant, also known as golden pothos, is a simple, low-maintenance plant that will quickly become your closest friend because it can be grown in a variety of ways! This plant is in the climbing plant family; therefore, it is naturally adept at climbing poles, walls, and other supports. Grow it in hanging plant pots and let its glossy green leaves dominate the atmosphere with their tangled and twining behaviors.

4. Peperomia: Peperomia is a plant genus with multiple different names. The genus includes several variations with diverse foliage, but all of them are mostly ornamental in nature. Its leaves can grow normally or in a heart form; they can be small, spherical, or folded at the margins. Nonetheless, the plant appears lovely when dangling from the wonderful hanging baskets.

5. Verbena: Verbena, a gorgeous hanging plant with over 250 different types, is well-known for its stress-relieving essential oils. These butterfly-attracting plants require plenty of sunlight (8 to 10 hours a day) and well-drained soil.

6. Blue Bacopa: Bacopa is best grown outside in containers, which provide the regular moisture that this flowering plant requires. Hang your bacopa somewhere with enough afternoon shade for the best results.

7. Lobelia: Lobelia comes in extremely strong blue colors, which are unusual in the plant world. Place them in full sun or partial shade. Blue lobelia, although technically a fragile perennial, may grow as an annual in climates across the United States.

8. Calibrachoa: The pretty-in-pink plant, also known as Million Bells or trailing petunia, is a popular flowering plant for hanging baskets due to its fast-growing blooms and diverse color range. Plant calibrachoa outdoors in late spring in well-drained soil and enjoy the foliage till the fall.
