A special crew of 12 women officers were sent on a sailing expedition from Mumbai to Lakshadweep and back for the preparations of theΒ 'Around the World Sailing Competition’ set to be held in September this year.Β 

The glorious journey included women from all three services of India's armed forces: the Army, Navy, and Indian Air Force (IAF).Β 

The news was shared by the Indian Army via a post on X (formerly Twitter), with the caption, "𝐀π₯π₯-π–π¨π¦πžπ§ π‚π«πžπ° 𝐏𝐒𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫 π’πšπ’π₯𝐒𝐧𝐠 π„π±π©πžππ’π­π’π¨π§Β The Tri-Services All-Women Sailing Expedition from #Mumbai to #Lakshadweep and back, culminated after getting Flagged-in at Marve, #Mumbai.Β The crew, comprising 12 resolute Women Officers from the #IndianArmy, #IndianNavy, and #IndianAirForce successfully completed a challenging voyage of 27 days, braving varying wind conditions, sweltering heat, and choppy sea waters."

TheΒ Additional Directorate General of Public Information (ADG PI) Indian Army account wrote on X, "This unique expedition not only exemplifies the spirit of adventure but also underscores the significance of fostering inclusivity & diversity in military endeavours."

The voyage was done in preparation for the upcoming circumnavigation competition, which is a worldwide event scheduled to be held in September. The whole expedition was conducted by theΒ Army Adventure Wing and the Army Aqua Nodal Centre of the College of Military Engineering in order to prepare the crew for the testing contest later this year.Β 

Several people online lauded the crew and the officials for their efforts and expressed their pride and joy in the comments. "All the very best ....Do us proud...Bon Voyage ladies," one user wrote, wishing the officers best for their voyage.Β
