Who is Sarabjot Singh? Farmer’s son who won bronze at the Olympics

Sarabjot Singh and Manu Bhaker clinched a bronze medal for India in the 10m air pistol mixed team event at the Paris Olympics. 
 

Sarabjot Singh, an Indian shooter, comes from a farming family in Ambala. He is the son of Jatinder Singh, a farmer, and Hardeep Kaur, a homemaker.
 

Sarabjot Singh earned his graduation degree from DAV College in Chandigarh and Punjab University.
 

Sarabjot Singh initially aspired to be a footballer, but his interest shifted when he observed children using air guns at a local range during a camp.
 

When Sarabjot expressed his desire to learn shooting, his father, a farmer, was initially opposed. He was concerned because shooting is an expensive sport.
 

Sarabjot persisted in trying to convince his parents, and after several months of effort, they eventually agreed. This marked the beginning of his shooting career.
 

Sarabjot trained with coach Abhishek Rana at AR Shooting Academy in Ambala Cantt. His journey has now culminated in success at the Paris Olympics.
