Henley Passport Index 2024

Henley Passport Index released the 2024's rankings of the most powerful passports. Like before, France maintained the number one spot in the list.

French passport

According to Henley Passport Index 2024, French citizens enjoy the most benefits with their powerful passports. Their passport grants them visa-free access to 194 countries.

India's rank

Compared to the last year’s 84th position, India slipped to the 85th rank this year.

Second and third spot

South Korea secured the second spot in the list alongside Finland and Sweden, with visa-free access to 193 countries. Austria is at the third position with visa-free access to 192 countries.

Other top spots

As per Henley Passport Index, the other top spots in the list are secured by Germany, Italy, Japan, Singapore, and Spain.

India

Until last year, Indian citizens could travel to 60 countries without a visa. This year, the numbers increased to 62 countries, & despite that, India received a much lower ranking.

China’s spot

China’s passport witnessed a significant surge. In 2023, it ranked 66, and this year it secured the 64th spot.

The US

The United States secured the sixth spot this year, a remarkable improvement from last year’s seventh rank.

Maldives' rank

Pakistan is at number 106, while Bangladesh ranks at number 102. Remarkably, the Maldives holds the 58th spot in the rankings.
