What is BAPS? Facts about the inauguration of Hindu temple in Dubai

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the BAPS temple in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, on 14 February. The ministers and officials from the Dubai government will also be in attendance.
 

Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha is an organization dedicated to the worship of Lord Swaminarayan. The temple in Dubai has been built by this organization. 
 

BAPS was founded by Shastriji Maharaj on 5 June 1907. He was a swami of the Swaminarayan Sampradaya.
 

BAPS experienced significant growth under the guidance of Pramukh Swami Maharaj. 
 

Since 1971, the organization has constructed numerous magnificent temples both within India and internationally. 

According to reports, BAPS has over 1700 temples worldwide. These temples are worshipping places of various Gods and Goddesses, along with Lord Swaminarayan.
 

Lord Swaminarayan was originally known as Sahajanand Swami. He was born in April 1781 on the auspicious day of Ram Navami. He was the founder of the Swaminarayan Sampradaya.
