How to take action against stalking

There are strict laws against stalking, and the perpetrators can face both punishments and fines. 
 

If a person stalks a woman with malicious intent, the police can take action under Section 345D of IPC.
 

The punishment can range from 1 to 3 years along with a fine in cases of stalking. 
 

After serving the initial sentence, if the person starts stalking the same woman, the punishment can be extended up to 5 years.
