How to keep water tank cool in summer

In summer heat, the water stored in tanks becomes extremely hot. Here are some tips to keep the tank cool in such situations. 
 

The boiling hot water from tanks can make bathing uncomfortable. Follow these tips to keep the water cool. 
 

Covering the tank can help keep the water cool. If there is no shed above, purchase a thick material to cover the tank. You can also use a cardboard for this. 
 

Keep the tank away from direct sunlight. Put it in shaded area to keep the water cool. 
 

When constructing a house, consider installing a separate tin shed for the tank. 
 

Avoid using a black coloured tank as it absorbs more sunlight. Consider installing tanks in white, blue or lighter colours. 
 

Fill a bucket with water a few hours before bathing. This will allow the water to cool down.
