Sohani Kumari: An Actor’s Journey of Resilience and Perseverance

Sohani Kumari, a resident of Barmer, Rajasthan, lost her father when she was just 5 years old. Her mother earned a living working as a labourer. 
 

Sohani pursued her education in the village up to grade 8. When her elder sister became an ANM, the family’s financial situation improved. 
 

While pursuing her higher education, Sohani worked at an NGO and earned Rs 15,000 per month. 
 

Sohani completed her courses in computer studies and beauty parlour management, and returned to her village. 
 

When Sohani expressed her desire of becoming a film actress to her mother, she was met with disappointment. 
 

In pursuit of her dreams, Sohani came to Mumbai with a financial support of Rs 25 thousand. 
 

Sohani appeared for various interviews and gave several auditions, and eventually landed a job. From then on, there was no turning back for her. 
 

Sohani ventured into digital marketing promotion and production. Her upcoming web series ‘Aakhir Palaayan Kab Tak’ is set to release 16 February.
