A Remarkable Single Mother Triumphing Over Violence and Injustice

She carved her identity by triumphing over pain and adversity.

In 1992, her father, CO Ramashray Yadav sacrificed his life while dealing with terrorists in Bajpur. 
 

She secured her husband’s position in the police department.
 

In 2008, when Devanshi was in grade 10, an infatuated boy carried out an acid attack on her. She suffered burns on her face. 

Fearing further attacks, Devanshi left Bareilly and enrolled in a boarding school in Delhi. 

Her uncle tried to sexually harass her; she managed to call for help and escaped from the situation.

In 2018, Devanshi established an NGO named ‘Ram Ashray Welfare Society’ in honour of her father. The organization strives to help underprivileged children. 

She provides computer training and mental health sessions to children residing at railway stations. She also rescues young girls from human trafficking. 

Despite facing resistance from her mother and grandma, she managed to persuade both of them to agree with the decision. 
 

In 2019, she adopted her first child named Vanmayi, and in 2022, she adopted two girls from Uganda.
