Many fans don't know this but Anil Kapoor's father, Surinder Kapoor was a freedom fighter from Meerut. He was later brought to Bombay by his cousin Prithviraj Kapoor.

Sharmila Tagore's great-granduncle Rabindranath Tagore played a major role in India's fight for freedom. He also was the first Non-European to win a Nobel prize in 1913.
