Indian cricketers extend Deepavali/Diwali wishes to fans

Bengaluru: Indian cricketers wished their fans and the nation a happy Deepavali/Diwali as the country celebrates the festival of light on Sunday (October 27).

Several cricketers including Shikhar Dhawan, Ishant Sharma, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ravichandran Ashwin, Hardik Pandya and others took to the micro-blogging website Twitter to extend wishes.

Recently, the Virat Kohli-led India completed a 3-0 Test whitewash over South Africa at home. With this they continued to remain on top of the ICC World Test Championship table with 240 points.

India’s head coach Ravi Shastri, former batsman VVS Laxman too wished a happy Diwali to everyone.

Two days ago, batting legend Sachin Tendulkar had extended wishes to fans on the occasion of Dhanteras.

India’s next series is at home, from November 3. They host Bangladesh for three T20Is. The limited-overs format will be followed by two Tests. Kohli has been rested for the T20I rubber and Rohit Sharma will lead the side.
