The President of France Emmanuel Macron was the special guest at the Republic Day celebrations. He arrived with President Droupadi Murmu in a special carriage.

The Constitution of India was adopted on 26 November 1949. In memory of Dr BR Ambedkar, the Constitution Day is celebrated on 26 November every year.

Every Indian’s heart swells with pride when the Indian flag is hoisted in all its glory. The national flag was designed by Pingali Venkayya. The saffron represents courage and sacrifice, white symbolizes truth and peach, green signifies faith and valour.

The Indian Constitution was enacted on 26 January 1950. For the first four years, between 1950 and 1954, Republic Day Parade was organized at four different locations, i.e., Irwin Stadium, Kingsway, Red Fort, and Ramlila Maidan.

Sania’s father, Shahid Ali works as a TV mechanic. After clearing the NDA exams, Mirzapur’s Sania Mirza became the country’s first Muslim female fighter pilot in the Indian Air Force. Among 400 seats, 19 were allocated for women and notably, only two were reserved for fighter pilots. Sania secured one of the two seats, marking an outstanding achievement in her career.

An all-woman bikers contingent of the CRPF will make its debut and showcase daredevil stunts at the January 26 Republic Day parade at Rajpath. The 65-member team will display its acrobatic skills on 350cc Royal Enfield Bullet motorcycles towards the end of the over 90-minute-long parade. She was the first woman parade adjutant for the Army Day parade on January 15 when she led an all-male contingent in the parade at the Cariappa Parade Ground in Delhi Cantonment. Out of 56 tableaux proposals for the upcoming Republic Day Parade 2020, an overall of 22 tableaux have been shortlisted. Kerala, West Bengal and Maharashtra are missing from the list.
