Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th Birth Anniversary  

On the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th birth anniversary, India was not the only country to pay tributes to Bapu. Countries such as France, United Arab Emirates also paid tributes to the Father of India. Burj Khalifa in Dubai was lit up with photographs of Gandhi. 
                    

On Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th birth anniversary, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared India open defecation free. He said that 99 percent of rural villages in India have declared themselves open defecation free and that 11 crore toilets were built for 60 crore people within 60 months. 

India celebrates Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th birth anniversary and a number of events have been lined up across the nation. The BJP has extended it Gandhi Sankalp Yatra by three months. 

October 2, 2019 marks Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th birth anniversary and the nation has woken up to pay tributes to the Father of the Nation. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to address the nation and declare the country open defecation free. 

On Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th birth anniversary, a number of public awareness events are scheduled to take place including a march for non violence in the Netherlands. The celebrations will commence with the cycling rally on September 29 to spread awareness about the Gandhian philosophy of simplicity and sustainability, India's Embassy  said in a statement.
