For a few days now, Karnataka Congress MLA Ramesh Jarkiholi, is saying that he will tender his resignation. But now, some of his trusted friends have done a volte-face, distancing themselves from him at a time when he needed them the most. The trusted friends include B Nagendra, Congress MLA from Ballari Rural, Mahesh Kummatahalli, Congress MLA from Athani (Belagavi) and Srimanth Patil, Congress MLA from Kagwad

MP and Ballari Lok Sabha Congress candidate Ugrappa chose not to vote in the first phase of Karnataka polls on Thursday. The reasons being cited are that he was busy campaigning in the region. But the irony is that he always talks about democracy and the Constitution but fails to practice what he preaches

 

Karnataka chief electoral officer Sanjiv Kumar held a presser on Wednesday evening, a day ahead of the first phase of polling in the state. As many as 30,164 polling booths have been set up across the fourteen constituencies, 1,54,262 polling staff will be in attendance and as many as 40,000 police personnel will be in charge of security across the fourteen constituencies.

Sumalatha, the wife of late actor-politician Ambareesh, who is contesting as an independent from Mandya, has alleged that the JDS has contacted her staff and enticed them to speak against her. For this purpose, she said the party is offering rupees Rs 10-15 lakh and an all-sponsored trip to either Dubai or Singapore

 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be presented a Kannada translation of his poem Ananta Atmavishwas which he penned in the year 1986 as a swayamsevak. Local MLA SA Ramdas will be doing the honours on Tuesday evening when Modi visits Mysuru
