Indian Independence Day  

For every Indian, Independence Day is a day that is an important chapter in history as it broke away from the shackles of the British Raj & became a free country. Today, India marks it’s 73rd year of independence.

Villagers of Shurpali in Bagalkot district of Karnataka celebrated India’s 73rd Independence Day braving floodwaters to hoist the Indian flag. Bagalkot is one of the districts that is reeling under floods and torrential rains.

On India’s Independence Day, the Indian flag flies high at Attari-Wagah border. Meanwhile Pakistan’s flag is at half mast.
