Anik Dutta’s film Bhobishyoter Bhoot, which is said to be a strong socio-political satire, was removed as it had a controversial plot. Be it the current situation of the state, the multi-crore scams, political hooliganism, frequent crimes again women or manipulating the local media, everything was portrayed in the 2-hour satirical movie. 

A section of the industry thinks Bhobishyoter Bhoot director Anik Dutta’s known adverse view of the current dispensation in Bengal is the real reason why this film was pulled down from the theatres. Here are the details.

Bengali thespian Soumitra Chatterjee shot off a letter, calling the taking off of the film from Bengali theatres as 'vindictive' and 'undemocratic'.

Bhobishyoter Bhoot is a horror-comedy film, which is said to be critical about various issues that are currently happening in TMC-ruled Bengal. "The film was released in as many as 44 theatres across Kolkata...but was removed citing no valid reasons," said director Anik Dutta.
