The Central and State governments run several schemes for the benefit of the girl child. Some of these scheme include Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, Beti Samriddhi Yojana, and Ladli Lakshmi Yojana etc.

This year, the Nari Shakti Puraskar has also been awarded to a One Stop Centre (OSC) and to a state which has shown exceptional progress in improving child sex ratio at birth under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme. The Ministry of women and child development is establishing OSCs for violence-affected women in all districts of the country

Several steps are required to holistically attain female empowerment. First, a woman must establish independence. Next, she must have the opportunity to generate wealth. Then, resources must exist for social and economic empowerment.
