Bangladesh Vs West Indies  

Taunton: Shakib Al Hasan starred with the bat with his second consecutive century at the ICC World Cup 2019 as Bangladesh defeated West Indies by seven wickets in a record 322-run chase in Taunton on Monday (June 17). After the match, the left-handed batsman spoke to the media about his innings and added that he is determined to do well in the ICC tournament. He also hoped that Bangladesh qualify for semi-finals.

Taunton: West Indies captain Jason Holder said they were 40 to 50 runs short against Bangladesh after losing the game at the ICC World Cup 2019 in Taunton on Monday (June 17). Despite scoring 321, the Caribbean side lost after Shakib Al Hasan’s fine hundred. Bangladesh chased down the target in 41.3 overs. Talking about West Indies’ against India on June 27, Holder admitted it will be ‘tough’. Now, they have to win all the remaining four games to have a chance of qualifying for the semi-finals.

This was Shakib Al Hasan’s day. When he had scored 23, he reached 6,000 ODI runs. He then passed fifty for the fourth time in four innings at the ICC World Cup 2019

West Indies captain Carlos Brathwaite protested the decision and wanted to take a review of the same. However, as per rules he was not allowed and there was confusion on the ground. With play held up, match referee Jeff Crowe came down to the ground and had a discussion with Brathwaite and the Windies team management. Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan too joined in
