Sri Lanka Church Blasts  

Easter Sunday attack on Sri Lanka was ranked as the deadliest attacks claimed by the Islamic State,l. However, that claim may not hold true now as officials have revised the death toll. Officials blamed calculation error and stated that the precise death toll now stands at 253.

Easter Sunday saw as many as eight blasts across Sri Lanka that took the lives of at least 321 people and injured 500 odd people. Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the terrorist attacks. The Sri Lankan government also exploring the angle that the attack could be in retaliation for the attack on Muslims offering Friday prayers at a mosque in New Zealand's Christchurch.
 

Following the serial blasts in Colombo that killed at least 290, the Sri Lankan police on Monday found 87 bomb detonators in Colombo's main bus stand. One bomb exploded near Anthoniyar, while operations were underway to defuse it. Security around the border, towards the Indian side has been tightened
 

Six blasts have been reported from Sri Lanka and the death toll has touched 138. About 400 people have been injured in the attack. 200 troops have been deployed to carry out rescue operation.
