Sachin Tendulkar's journey from a young boy to the 'God of Cricket' has inspired millions all over the world. Celebrating the legend's birthday, let's recall some of his greatest cricket records of all time. 

Every year on April 1, Odissa Day, also known as Utakala Dibasha, is observed to commemorate the creation of the Odisha state following a protracted battle for state recognition. Odisha was a part of the British colonial Bengal presidency, which also comprised West Bengal and Bihar.

In the early 1990s, Sheikh Abdullah, a resident of Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, adopted modern farming methods to increase the production of tomatoes on his land. Rekha Devi, a homemaker from Gopalganj, Bihar, wished to utilize her free time when her kids left home to pursue their goals. She began the cultivation of mushrooms in an unused room at home. Over time, her venture became profitable, and today she earns lakhs of rupees with her endeavours.

Smrika Chandrakar is a resident of Charmudiya village in Dhamtari district of Chhattisgarh. She makes a substantial income through farming while providing employment to over 100 people.

Harish began cultivating aloe vera, pomegranate, olive and other crops on 562 acres of land. Currently, he has 20 lakh aloe vera plants on his land. Reportedly, he makes around Rs 2.5 crore annually.  

Santosh Devi Khedar embarked on this journey in 2008 along with her husband. Following organic farming practices, she planted 220 pomegranate trees. The positive outcome of their immense hard work began to manifest in 2011, when the trees bore fruits. A profit of Rs 3,00,000 was made in the first year alone.

The shortage of labour posed a significant problem in accomplishing daily farming tasks. To find a solution, Gurucharan Pradhan, a resident of Odisha, embarked on making a machine capable of performing several tasks at once. In the year 2000, he began studying various machines and designed his own model. After 7 years of diligent work, he achieved in success in the year 2007.

Raghuvar Das is a senior politician associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party. He joined the BJP as a founding member in the year 1980. He was sworn in as the sixth Chief Minister of Jharkhand on 28 December 2014. Presently, Raghubar Das is serving as the 26^th Governor of Odisha.

Raimati Ghiuria, a young tribal woman hailing from Odisha, is being recognized as the ‘Queen of Millets’ due to her contributions to preserving 30 varieties of rare millets. She also educates people on various aspects of millet cultivation, including techniques for growth, enhancing quality, and preservations.

Meira Kumar is a former speaker of the Lok Sabha. In the year 2009, she won from Sasaram constituency of Bihar and was appointed as the Speaker of Lok Sabha. She was the first female Lok Sabha speaker of India.
