Sri Lankan fans have set an example to the rest of the world with their actions after the third ODI against South Africa at Pallekele Cricket Stadium. Despite the home team losing the third ODI against South Africa, fans gathered to clean up the stands in the stadium.

The cleaning drive also happened in the fourth ODI at Pallekele stadium. Sri Lanka won the match but have lost the series 3-1 to South Africa.

The fans collected plastic bottles, wrappers and food from the stands.

Former Sri Lankan captain Kumar Sangakkara noticed the effort of the people and posted about it on Twitter.

Sri Lankan cricket board also posted a video on Twitter.

This is similar to an incident that happened during FIFA 2018 in Russia. Japanese fans cleaned the Rostov-Don arena in Russia despite losing 3-2 to Belgium.
