India captain Virat Kohli is known to never shy away from speaking his mind. The talk of the town currently is Kohli’s riposte to Joe Root’s ‘mic drop’ celebrations.

His fans loved the skipper’s reaction. However, now the Indian supporters are riled up by ICC as it trolled Kohli over it. This happened after India was defeated by England in the first Test in Birmingham.

A picture posted by ICC on its official Twitter account included a microphone and a fisted hand.

Both Kohli and Root are seen deep in discussion with a microphone falling under Root’s right hand and the picture is captioned ‘Root Out’.

This tweet evoked a lot of reactions from the fan base in India which has condemned this act as “distasteful” and “unfitting” of an international organisation.

It was Root who first did the ‘mic drop’ celebration during the ODI series against India.

Kohli had his own way of hitting back at the England Test captain and he did a ‘mic drop’ during the first Test at Edgbaston Cricket Ground after running out Root.

When asked about Kohli’s celebrations, Root had told Sky Sports, “I did not see it in the middle. Saw it last night after day's play. It adds to the whole spectacle of Test cricket. Gives a bit of humour to it. It also makes it for a very entertaining series. Let's see how things pan out over the course of the five Tests.”
