Bengaluru: US president Donald Trump and his family paid a visit to the timeless monument Taj Mahal at Agra, Uttar Pradesh. 

They flew to Agra from Ahmedabad after addressing a massive gathering at the Motera cricket stadium. 

As the President took his flight to Agra, he was all excited to be a part of history. 

He told reporters that he's never been to the iconic 17th century mausoleum, but that he's heard it's "incredible." 

Reports stated that Trump and first lady Melania Trump arrived at the UNESCO world heritage site just as the sun was beginning to set.

Trump was received at the airport by none other than UP CM Yogi Adityanath himself.

POTUS and FLOTUS were also witness to some phenomenal dances. 

On his arrival at the airbase, over 250 artistes from different parts of Uttar Pradesh performed ‘Mayur dance', ‘Rai folk dance', Dhobia folk dance', 'bamrasia' dance as sonorous sounds of nagada, dholak and mridang added to the festive ambience.

 In his guest book, the Trumps wrote, “The Taj Mahal inspires awe. A timeless testament to the rich and diverse beauty of Indian culture. 

Earlier in the day, POTUS and his family landed at the Ahmedabad airport, to be welcomed by PM Modi and Gujarat CM Rupani. 

The PM gave Trump a warm hug, signalling India’s hospitality to its guests. Later, POTUS and FLOTUS also visited Sabarmati ashram and spun the charaka. 

After that at the huge Motera, both PM and Trump addressed the gathering, touching upon topics relevant to both the countries. 

Trumps will fly to Delhi from Agra and stay put there tonight.
