Thiruvananthapuram: The ongoing strike by the empanelled employees of the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) in front of the secretariat in Kerala has been called off. The strike was called off with the state government's decision to appoint the empanelled employees with over five years’ service in leave vacancy.

The decision was taken at a meeting convened by the transport minister AK Saseendran on Friday. More than 1,300 workers of the corporation are on leave on various grounds. Those in leave vacancy will be provided salaries of the days of their work.

The loss-incurring corporation had recently terminated 3,872 empanelled (temporary) bus conductors following a directive from the high court.
