Karnataka Budget presentation to be delayed on account of 'auspiciousness'

Feb 7, 2019, 7:02 PM IST

Karnataka chief minister HD Kumaraswamy will present the Karnataka Budget at 12:32 PM on Friday.  The chief minister has maintained its penchant for superstition.  The budget which is traditionally presented at 11 AM will see a shift in schedule as the usual hour is considered inauspicious.  Congress leader Siddaramaiah sounds confident ahead of the D-day, claiming all members will be in attendance on Friday.

Astrologers had previously opined that the turmoil in the Karnataka government was caused due to the cabinet expansion that took place at an inauspicious time. The chief minister was under pressure by the Congress and had disregarded it in fear of backlash. However, the minister does not seem to want to take any chances. The BJP says the coalition government is driven by 'stars' and not 'service'.
