Christian cult holds event equipped with HC order amid protest by Kapil Mishra, BJP

New Delhi: On Saturday, even as the Family of Lord Jesus Church (FOLJ) went ahead with its two-day long showcasing of ‘miracles’ at Delhi’s Talkatora Stadium after it was given reprieve by the Delhi High Court on Friday, AAP rebel Kapil Mishra and Delhi BJP activists staged a massive protest outside the venue.

Mishra and Delhi BJP spokesperson Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga later courted arrest, along with hundreds of their supporters. Delhi Police took them to the Parliament Street police station.

Incidentally, Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia, who was to be the chief guest at the event, cancelled his appointment as AAP and Sisodia came under heavy fire over allegations of supporting religious conversion of Hindus and Sikhs to Christianity.

Mishra had on Friday lodged a criminal complaint against the organisers and Sisodia with the Delhi Police, alleging fraud in the name of religion. Mishra had also complained to the NDMC chief, who had revoked the permission for the event, but which was stayed later in the evening by the Delhi HC.

“The organisers are into the business of conversion of Sikhs and Hindus. They have sold tickets to this event promising miracles: the blind will get sight, incurable diseases will be cured so on and so forth. This false claims in the name of religion and encouraging superstition and this is a fraud which must be prosecuted,” said Mishra while he was arrested.

Mishra told MyNation that videography of the event had been done and that he would move the Delhi HC on Monday against FOLJ.

Bagga and Mishra also claimed victory against AAP and chief minister Arvind Kejriwal as they tweeted that, under pressure of their protest, Sisodia had to take his name back from the event.

The leader of the FOLJ Church Apostle PS Rambabu happens to be the president of New Creation Ministries and Senior Pastor of Holy Spirit Generation Church, Bangalore, Karnataka, too. The website of New Creation Ministries declares: “New Creation Ministries (NCM) is headed by Evangelist PS Rambabu and Evangelist Ankit Rambabu. The ministry has been taking the Good News of our Lord Jesus Christ to every corner of the world. NCM has a unfallable [sic] vision of ‘Reaching the un-reached’ and also to harvest ‘one million souls’ every year by conducting large Crusades and Gospel gatherings.”

Besides, FOLJ website claims several cases in which the ailing were cured of not just irreversible accident injuries, but also cancer and polio after converting to Christianity.

Its Facebook page is full of such instances. It contains several videos in which gatherings are being addressed by Hindus who apparently did not find the truth in their religion. They are describing Hinduism as “a collection of unhistorical tales and stories” and why they converted to Christianity, “the real deal”.
