The actor's aunts- Shivangi, Padmini, Tejaswani, Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhonsle, Usha Mangeshkar and Meena Khadikar are all getting gifts from Madhya Pradesh
It seems actor Shraddha Kapoor kept very busy while shooting for her latest movie Stree in Chanderi, Madhya Pradesh. Directed by Amar Kaushik, the movie released on Thursday and also stars Rajkumar Rao.
The actor reportedly went out shopping for her mother, grandmothers and aunts, lovingly known as the 'saat deviya' in her life -Shivangi, Padmini, Tejaswani, Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhonsle, Usha Mangeshkar and Meena Khadikar. A close friend of the family told us, “Chanderi sarees are especially known for their centuries-old weaving which produces finely textured fabrics. The sarees were patronized by royalty and are regarded as among the finest in India because of their gold and silver brocade or zari, fine silk and opulent embroidery. While staying in Chanderi during the shoot of Stree, when Shraddha came to know that it was the city where the Chanderi sarees came from, she left with her team post pack-up and picked up sarees with gold embroidery and in pastel shades for the saat deviyas - her ajis (grandmother) Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhonsle, Usha Mangeshkar and Meena Khadikar and her mother and two maasis. Shraddha doesn’t believe in ghosts or supernatural so for her to go out after dark had fallen, to go shopping at the local markets, was never an issue.”
Shraddha reportedly never misses an opportunity to pamper the seven ladies in her life by getting them gifts from wherever she goes. “Shraddha loves her grandmothers and aunts and her gifts are well-thought out and most precious gifts for the family. Last year when she went on a holiday to in Tuscany in Italy with her bestie Eshanka Wahi, she picked up Braccialini (Italian manufacturer of high-end bags and accessories for women) leather bags for all the seven ladies. It’s never a surprise when Shraddha returns home after a trip out of town, laden with gifts as the Kolhapures always give each other gifts. It's the sharing bug, as they call it,” says the source.
Her brother Siddhant too always picks up gifts for everyone while travelling. “Siddhant got Shivangi’s favourite cookies, ghraybeh (Middle Eastern shortbread cookies made of butter or ghee, flour, powdered sugar, and pistachios) from Dubai in transit from Mauritius to Europe for all of us so when the whole family travelled to Europe later it was sorted with theplas and ghraybeh.”
