India is among the top 5 countries in the world that generates e-waste. According to IFC 4,000 metric ton of e-waste is collected from citizens and corporations.

Earlier, reusable computers of the secretariat were given to institutions like government schools at free of cost. But, that was done only for a small quantity. This is for the first time that the government is supplying reusable computers to a government institution and that too in large numbers.
