Hyderabad:  Actor Mahesh Babu may get the superstar treatment wherever he goes but it turns out so does his wax statue. 

The actor's wax figure has been flown all the way from Singapore to Hyderabad for a special event just for Mahesh Babu's fans. The statue will be placed in the AMB Cinemas in Hyderabad on for a day. This is the first time that Madame Tussauds would be organising an event such as this outside Singapore and a few lucky fans of the actor will get a selfie-perfect moment with the wax likeness of the actor.

A few fans were specially selected by Babu’s official fans group teams and representatives from Madame Tussauds, through sketching contests and other such competitions. After the Telugu superstar unveiled his wax idol today morning, the selected group of his fans who managed to impress with their artwork will get an opportunity to take selfies with the wax idol till 6 PM.

The unveiling was streamed live on Youtube and social media with Mahesh Babu posing next to the statue. Mahesh Babu’s wife and children also attended the ceremony. He said of the statue, "The statue is freaking me out, because it is very real, and it can't get any better than this. It's an honour that I've got my wax sculpture and it will be placed alongside many legends of Indian cinema in Singapore. There couldn't be happier than this."

The wax figure will be flown back to the Madame Tussauds museum after the event.
