Kozhikode: MK Raghavan, Congress leader and UDF candidate from Kozhikode, Kerala grabbed headlines after he was accused in a bribery scandal case just a couple of days before the election. Raghavan has received 4,49,378 votes so far and leads by 76,036 votes over his LDF opponent.

A video had surfaced recently, in which Raghavan was allegedly negotiating a bribe. In the viral video telecast by a news channel, two people are seen promising to donate Rs 5 crore to the election fund if land deals were completed smoothly for them.

Raghavan also revealed that around Rs 20 crore is required for the election campaign and that his party could provide Rs 2 crore. Raghavan even asks the others in the video to hand over the money at a party office in New Delhi and that the deal would be in cash only.

 The UDF is ahead in 19 out of the 20 Lok Sabha seats in Kerala. AM Arif of LDF has taken the lead in Alappuzha.

The exit polls had foretold that the UDF will bag more than half the seats in the state.

Raghavan told media that he is happy that the Kozhikode people stood with him during a difficult time. Raghavan is the present MP of Kozhikode. Other candidates from Kozhikode are A Pradeep Kumar of CPI(M) and KP Prakash Babu of BJP.

The 20 parliamentary constituencies in Kerala are Kasaragod, Kannur, Vatakara, Wayanad, Kozhikode, Malappuram, Ponnani, Palakkad, Alathur, Thrissur, Chalakudy, Ernakulam, Idukki, Kottayam, Alappuzha, Mavelikkara, Pathanamthitta, Kollam, Attingal and Thiruvananthapuram.
