New Delhi: A decade ago on this very day, one of the most audacious attacks on India’s security took place. Ten years back, 10 Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists sailed into Mumbai from Karachi and carried out coordinated attacks that lasted three days. Some of the most famous landmarks of Mumbai — the Taj Mahal Palace hotel, Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus railway station, Oberoi Trident hotel, Nariman House and Leopold Cafe — were attacked, killing as many as 164 people and grievously wounding more than 200. For two nights and three days, Hotel Taj Mahal burned, showing how vulnerable Indian cities were to terror.
